Uzbekistan is the most populated republic in Central Asia (more than 60 %).
The population of Uzbekistan is more than 25 million people. Population density is 50,4 people per square kilometer.
The Uzbeks are the native inhabitants of the country and besides the Uzbeks, there are Karakalpaks, Tajiks, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Turkmen, Tartars, Russians, Ukrainians, Byelorussians, Polish people, Czechs, Bulgarians and many others living in Uzbekistan as it is a multinational country inhabited by more than 100 nations and nationalities.
The Uzbeks profess the Islam religion and are Sunni Muslims of Hanafi School.
Traditional peculiarities of Uzbek people are clearly seen in the customs, traditions, clothes, meal cooking, and interior decoration of houses.
The Uzbek language belongs to the languages of the Turkish group and it is colloquial and written literary language of the Uzbeks living mostly in Uzbekistan.
